Reloading POIs

In order to load new updates, I have to unload all POI's then reload everything. If I just load one POI that takes the place of everything already loaded. Am I doing this the right way? I have a nuvi 750. Thanks. John

Don't Delete

You need not delete the old POI's when you load updates. The new file will totally replace the old file, so you must load everything -- every time.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

Rename POI.gpi to preclude overwriting

After you load a new POI file by running POI Loader just go to the Nuvi's POI subdirectory and use Windows Explorer to rename the POI.gpi file (which contains the POIs from the most recent run of POI Loader) to something unique (eg Florida.gpi etc etc). The POI.gpi file is overwritten each time POI Loader is run but any renamed files will not be touched. Some people keep a large "master" POI file on their PC and just reload everything again every time they want to make a change. Others rename their files so only changes need to be addressed when running POI loader. A combination of both methods works just fine too.

thanks

Thanks for the help.

I got one master folder

So when i get ready to load the poi all i do is go to the folder "Load to GPS" and load that one and if i need to change a poi i dont have to go thru a big long list.
