detail maps don't support traffic

Hello guys,I just bought an ATT Tilt online and it came with garmin mobile xt version 40.20.30wp, when I try to update traffic it says 'detail maps don't support traffic' everything else updates fine, how can I get traffic to work ? do I need new maps ? also when I had tomtom with my previos phone I could see my selected POI around me at all times any way to do this with garmin????

I don't see anything in the user manual indicating anything about needing different maps for traffic.

I'm assuming that you are accessing the Garmin Online feature which requires an internet connection on your phone.

As far as seeing POIs on the map screen, many Garmin units require that you be zoomed in fairly closely in order to see the POIs on the map. Be sure that your map detail is set to the highest setting and then try zooming in.
