Bluetooth Upgrade

I'm a little gun-shy about calling this an upgrade with the bad experiences many of us have had with the disconnect problems on our smartphones. I spotted the upgrade from fw v3.00 to v3.10 while checking things out on the webupdater. It stated that it would address the issue of phone disconnects and I decided to upload this firmware version. So far so good, it seems to have solved the disconnect problems between my 660 and BB 8130.smile I was so fed up with this issue that I didn't think twice about being the "guinea pig" to test this out.

As I understand it, that is a function of whether the phone makes the phonebook available for download. My Razr is not a problem. Have you made a suggestion to HTC? Does the iPhone have the same limitation on phonebook?

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

I certainly hear your frustration and understand how you feel. On my BB/660 combination the "voice dial" feature works spottily, at best, it will sometimes work and sometimes it will do nothing even after I've repeated myself. I've had no problems with my phonebook and there is no sms messaging (no biggie for me). This will obviously continue to be a "work in progress" for the foreseeable future. Please keep in mind that part of the fault also lies with the different phone mfrs, when compatibility issues exists, and not just with Garmin.

Bluetooth Downgrade -

I had a real problem when I upgraded from 2.8 to 3.0, finally decided to go back to 2.8. I haven't had any problems since the downgrade, and am kind of hesitant to upgrade to an unknown when it is working.
Has anyone noticed an actual improvement from 2.8 to 3.1?

It is completely up to the phone manufacturer as far as what they make available via bluetooth. My understanding is that the iPhone has no problem sending the address book via bluetooth. My old phone couldn't but my new one does and it does make life a little easier in that regard.
