my issue is that when I use the POI loader and use "Automatic" the proximity data is there '1319 ft" but the MPH warning states "None" when I look at the custom POI.

.

The speed camera locations in the file aren't set with specific speed settings. You will get alerted all all speeds.

You can modify the file to suit your needs if you want the speeds on each location.

Adding Alert Speeds

You can specify an alert speed for any location in your POI file by appending data to the name field. An @ symbol is used to separate speed data from the name.

Here are some examples:
-81.12345,45.98765,"Police Station@35"
-81.12332,45.98622,"Middle School@20

Check out Phil's great guide for more information about alerts.

Red Light and Speed

As I understand the RED LIGHT alerts work on proximity(distance)only and not speed. So therefore MPH should not be a factor and would not be listed!

The speed cameras are

The speed cameras are located on streets with many varying speed limits, so having a universal setting for the files won't work. And it can be difficult to know just how much latitude one is given from one region of the country to the next. Here in Colorado we can usually get away at 10 over the limit, but I don't necessarily trust that premise universally.

For that reason it makes more sense to be alerted at a reasonable distance, but not to have any specified speed.

Also, if you look in the file, not all the location have a speed that has been reported with the location. Those that have the information will have it next to the name.

Great - thanks for the info.
