i do

I use one on mine, you can get them at circuitcity
bestbuy and walmart, IF you use a stylus that can hurt the screen, if you use just your finger i dont see where that would hurt anything, unless your fingernails my get it, the only problem i do have with it, it takes away the anti glare of the screen and does give off reflections or somethimes wipe out your screen from the sunlight, but that again depends on the location of the GPSr.

Everyday is a GREAT day :)

InvisibleSHIELD ROCKS!

I've been using the invisible shields on my electronics since the days of the first gen iPod. I've got one on my phone, my girlfriend's phone, my iPod video, my iPod nano, my GF's iPod nano, and my GF's Nuvi 350! And I'm getting ready to order one for my new Trail Guide (Garmin Quest 2) even though it doesn't even have a touch screen, I know that the invisible shield will keep it from getting scratched during day to day use.

The invisible shields have kept my electronics that I use on a daily basis safe and looking BRAND NEW over month's of use! I couldn't recommend anything more. They don't add any bulk to your device, but protect the screen and anything else they cover better than anything else I've found. NO, I don't work for invisible shield, I'm just a very loyal customer to a great product and a great company with excellent customer service. They guarantee their product to last as long as the device it's protecting, and if it ever does get scratched, they'll replace. Also, if you ever have a problem with your device, they're good about replacing the invisible shield if you have to send something out for service. Just peel it off, and save it before you send out your unit for service, then send it off to them once you get your replacement in the mail. My iPod video died almost a year after got it, and it had a shield on it. I just peeled it off, sent out my iPod for service, and let invisible shield know, they sent me out a replacement right away. I actually had it before I had my iPod back. Then I just sent back the old shield that I peeled off to keep my warranty intact incase I ever had to have them send me another replacement

Whew...that was a lot longer than I planned when I started. Hope that helps!

Nice. I wonder whether it would be cheaper to buy from that site or from Walmart smile

Amazing product! Very

Amazing product! Very impressed. I got one for my zumo 550.

I bought

one off ebay right after I bought my unit to protect that matters most "the unit's screen"! This was the first time I ever use screen protectors. However, I will use it only for devices that requires special care.

walmart...

I'm not sure if they sell the "invisibleSHIELD" at walmart. Maybe a knock off. They're really not that expensive on their website. Usually under $30, and that's for a shield that will probably wrap your entire unit! Usually around $10 to cover your screen.

Protection

I use generic protectors on my cell phone, pda, and gps. I also use screen and keyboard protectors on my laptop and am in the process of ordering a screen protector for my lcd monitor. I like the added sense of protection and it makes cleaning much easier.

Just ordered InvisibleShield for my Nuvi 350. I've used general plastic screen protector for my StreetPilot 340 and Palm Pilot but result was TERRIBLE.
So ~ $12 for protecting my Nuvi should be a good choice smile

Just ordered one for my 360...

sounds like it might just do the trick...Thanks for the help!

Hi, is the Invisible Shield matte or glossy?

I've tried Clarivue, BoxWave and Rinco. All were glossy except for Boxwave. The Boxwave piece was the best, but didn't fit my nuvi properly. I had to trim it to get it to fit.

Thanks.

Screen Protection

Is there one screen protector that makes the screen look better than the others? I would like to use one but my eye sight isn't what it once was.

Screen Protector.

Has anyone actually had a screen damaged from just using your finger. I have not seen any bad scratches etc on my units and have some of them several years. Therefore are screen protectors worth the $12 or more? If so what are they protecting?

Well - no matter how careful

Well - no matter how careful you are - most people will have scratches on screen. On an average - if you paid $300 for a unit, $12 is not too bad for protecting the screen I guess

TomTom screen protection.

I use the shield they have at shieldzone. It's WONDERFUL. Check out this video, ya'll. http://www.invisibleshield.com/movie/index.php

This is awesome. For my TomTom 720, I got the screen protection for $12.95. I had already bought a 4 year protection plan from Best Buy, so the body protection wouldn't necessarily be needed. This is awesome though. If the screen protection was $50, I'd happily pay it. It's well worth it. I have it on my ipod, and you can get it for alot of different things.

This all aounds like good stuff

This all sounds like good stuff to me. Thanks for the posts... I think I'll want to look into this more!

I had a couple left over

I had a couple left over from some I bought for a Casio PDA. The scree on my Nuvi 260 is just a tad smaller so a quick trim and it went on just fine. Makes cleaning all those fingerprints on the screen so much easier.

InvisibleSHIELD all the way

I've used the InvisibleSHIELD on my hand held units - first on my 76CS and later on my 76CSx. I've used the units for geocaching and have done some really bad things to my units. For instance, I once fell and, while falling, grabbed at a small oak tree. I wrapped my arm around the tree to try and stop my fall but it didn't work out well. I slid all the way to the ground dragging my arm and the screen of my GPSr down the face of the tree. The bark on the tree mangled the inside of my upper arm pretty good. The screen of the GPSr was dragged all along the bark as well.

The InvisibleSHIELD ended up looking a bit cloudy from the abuse. The next morning the "self healing" properties of the shield had rendered it completely clear again. The screen was perfect. Try doing THAT with a WalMart or other PDA screen protector. There is absolutely NO COMPARISON.

I think I'll get one for my Nuvi. The sell both a "screen only" version and a "full body" version.

I've tried 4 different screen protectors on my Nuvi. I have to say the Invisible Shield is my #1 preference. It has the nicest feel and is the least glossy.

I'm biased. I put screen protectors on everything: cameras, cell phones, etc. I get a really sick feeling when I find a scratch on a coveted electronic device wink

Sooooooooo....... Did you get the full body version or the screen only protector? If you got the full body version how was the installation? I've found them to be easy to install on screens but never done a full body install.

Hi, screen protection only. (I didn't notice any other options.)

Full Body InvisibleSHIELD

I got the full body version of the invisibleShield for my Nuvi. It was a bit of a pain in the neck to install since I don't do well with little pieces. I'd seen the install video for the full body shield for the iPod and it looked pretty simple. However, it wasn't in near as many pieces as the one for the Nuvi.

I started with the back and the other pieces and did a fairly good job. The only place it was really critical was the screen which I left for last. The only place I had difficulty and screwed it up was....... the screen. GAH! That is the simplest part to get right. I kept getting it mis-aligned. You can take it up and re-position it if you don't let it sit very long first and I've done that with other ones that I installed on different units. For some reason I kept screwing this one up and finally ended up with one corner slightly marred due to my clumsiness. Sigh...........

Oh, well. It works fine and the marred place is really very small and mostly only noticeable to me since I'm the one who did it. If I had it to do again I'd just get the screen protector part. If you're wondering which to get that is my recommendation.

Check your usage first before buying!

Screen protectors are worth it for devices that get thrown in with other stuff, e.g. cellphones or PDAs or iPods put carelessly into pockets or purses that contain keys, coins, etc. These sharp objects could mar the surface of the device. If you do this to your GPSr, by all means, get a screen protector.

Otherwise, if you baby your GPSr, like putting it in a protective case after each use before putting it away, or even if you never ever take it off its mount in the car, save your money towards the next upgrade. Or towards a microfibre cloth to keep it clean.

The chances of the screen getting scratched from normal use (fingertips) is remote.

By the way, I have the invisible shield (but NOT on my Garmin nuvi) and it's a PITA to install. Be sure your hands are clean and oil-free. Getting smudges and fingerprints on and off the film while handling it is an exercise in frustration.

Protection

Never used them before. Thanks for the information because I think I will go get a set and try them out now.

Cheap screen protectors vs invisibleSHIELD

Ok. Here's a test for you. Take your car key and vigorously scratch it on the screen. Make it thud while you do so. Scratch it HARD. Do your low-cost screen protectors save the screen or did you just ruin the thing. Afraid to try it?

I've used this exact method to show folks how much I trust the invisibleSHIELD. People get horrified looks on their faces when I start forcibly trying to scratch the screen with my keys. I know it's safe because I have it covered with the invisibleSHIELD.

You're right, of course. But you're obviously careful. I try awfully hard to treat all of my stuff carefully so it looks and operates well for a long time. I used a Treo 650 (a touch screen device) for years and had no marks showing on the screen itself. But screen protection is just an insurance policy that, if inexpensive enough, can't hurt. My son gave me a cheap version for my T-Mobile Dash that doesn't even have a touch screen. But it helps protect against accidents and doesn't look bad.

I do get a kick out of accessory protection products that are so expensive that you have to wonder whether it's better just to save-up your money and buy a new device sooner than you would normally plan.

I got mine for a regular ipod, but mainly because my hand gets oily and I'd have to constantly wipe my ipod, with the shield, it acts like a repellent somewhat and now it looks better (less finger print).

+1.

+1. I've got Invishield on both Garmins and luv it. I'm done sampling all the other brands.

And it does help mute the effect of fingerprints on the screen making them less of a visual distraction.

I use PSP screen covers.. for my screen they come in 2 packs.. for under 10 bux

doesn't fit perfectly there's a small outer edge that's uncovered... but that doesn't bother me.. the main portion that I use all the time is covered and that's what's important. smile
