Touch Screen

What do these screen protectors do to your touch screen?,Does it change there ability to feel your touch?
What about glare are some better than others?

Screen Protector ????

I always use the rubber tip of a pencil and never use my finger.
Seems to work great on my Nuvi 200.
Feel that this works great even tho I have a screen protector on my PDA. There I use a metal stylus.

Pencil?

That would be a bit difficult in a vehicle I would think. Hard to pick up when you drop it on the floor unless you keep a box of pencils next to you.

I have managed to accidently scratch glass more than once. Screen-protection is just a good precaution against both the un-forseen & the extra-ordinary.

screen protectors...

Typically screen protectors make it easier to touch the screen, and reduce glare.

I use cheap generic Belkin screen protectors from Walmart, just cut them to size. They work great.

Screen protector

I use the cheapest ones that I could find on ebay and they work just fine.

screen protectors

I haven't found the need to use them yet. A good soft eyeglass cloth cleans perfectly.

Without protector

I have only used my GPS for about 6 months. I only use it on the weekends. Of course mine does not show any signs of wear and tear... yet.

How about those who have used your GPS regularly for several years? Does your GPS screen show signs of wear and tear? I'm wondering if a screen protector is worth it.

No problem with mine

I have been using my Streetpiolot c530 for over two years now. Carry it with me in a case when I fly to other locations.

I have too much into my GPS, and don’t want to chance it... I use screen-protection preventatively-

Does it show signs of wear? Do you keep it in a separate case or just a brief case?

No signs of wear

I keep it in a small canvas pouch when I am outside the car. Otherwise it is mounted on my vent or sitting under the seat.

Is there any sign of wear on the screen? I figure after 2 years and thousands of touches, it should show some sort of wear, no?

ZAGG

Does this offer anti-glare?

I used to use screen

I used to use screen protectors, but my last two units,I use distilled water and a very fine cloth for LCD screens and spray a few drops in the cloth and it has kept my sceen clean well taken care and it looks like the first day I got it.

I use the screen protector

I use the screen protector for a greater reason than just my fingerprints, it's incase of the unforseen and some object were to somehow contact the screen.

So far, it's done an awesome job-

Allways use one

I used a screen protector on my Nuvi 260 and found it very useful. A friend borrowed my GPS for a weekend and used the pointy end of a pencil to operate it. shock He thought it was the same as his PDA but could not find the stylus. I am sure the screen protector saved the Nuvi’s bacon. When I got my new unit one of the first things I did was get a screen protector. One other plus with using one is they cut down on unwanted reflections and seem to increase the screens contrast in bright sunlight.
I bought mine along with a vent mount from MountGuys.

DLO shields okay too...

I've never used any shields on my nuvi 750 - have a travel case but don't regularly use it. Got some DLO 4.3" shields for X-mas and tried them. Seem to work fine, but honestly didn't have any issues with scratching before...I'll wait and see how they work out. No apparent loss of sensitivity in the touch screen.

i use screen protection on

i use screen protection on all my itouch and iphone. i don't use screen protection on my gps, but i do use a lint free cloth to wipe down once a day.

I use some old generic palm

I use some old generic palm screen protectors. They add some glare but don't affect the touch screen. I love writeshields from pocketpctechs but they don't make one for my gps.

-WOW...

All I can say is WOW... and thank God for the screen-protector!

I Use Screen Protection On

I Use Screen Protection on my Blackberry, but not on my gps. Fingerprints are hard to remove on phone, but not on gps.

--
Alan-Garmin c340

Fingerprints were not even

Fingerprints were not even an issue to me when I considered whether to risk the unforseen scratch (even though taking extreem care not to let it happen).

Sorta like buying insurance, I use protection-

I use the flat of my fingernail so prints have never really been a problem.

Bob: My toys: Nüvi 1390T, Droid X2, Nook Color (rooted), Motorola Xoom, Kindle 2, a Yo-Yo and a Slinky. Gotta have toys.

Tried but end up removing

I tried 2 different types of screen protectors and I just couldn't get them to go on cleanly ("without any bubbles"); so I ended up not having one.

Screen Shield and Vent Mount

I just bought a screen protector and a/c vent mount for my nuvi and like them both. I got them from: http://www.bedoxinc.com/igiganuvemo.html for $5 and Shipping.

My problem is not the screen

My problem is not the screen but the case itself. I tend to have a habit of dropping the device on concrete sooner or later.

I'll need to have my device totally encased in plastic like furnitures in the 70's.

I never used screen

I never used screen protectors on any of my touch screens. When they are dirty just clean them with a piece of cloth and some tap water. that did the job perfectly.

.

I've personally never used a screen protector on my gps devices, but if you're thinking of purchasing one you may want to take a look at monoprice. They have awesome prices and I've never been disappointed in their products or service.
