Traffic Receiver Location

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know if the LOCATION / Angle where you have the traffic receiver for the Nuvi 660 located will affect the signal? I recently added a splitter to my power outlet in my truck so that I could have two sockets open (1 for my phone and the other for the Nuvi)and it seems like since I did this my traffic updates have been less frequent?! Anyone have any take on this?

It probably is that... It

It probably is that... It affects the power from the battery for the traffic updates. Meanin that it dosen't search as powerfully for the updates

My Receiver Has an LED that Advises of A Lack of Signal

A red LED tells me my antenna is not receiving a signal.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

I had the same problem with

I had the same problem with my 680. And I called Garmin they had me hit the reset on the plug. It's a small hole. I didn't even know it was there till they told me. Maybe you want to check that out.

Thanks for the input. I wonder if it could be that I live in a traffic free related area? I mean, it used to advise me of stuff up to 60 miles from my home but lately I've not received squat on it. I looked at my subscription date and I'm good till April 2008 at which time the free 90 subscription is up. Do you think because it's the FREE SUBSCRIPTION that could have an affect?

I Looked for the small hole

I Looked for the small hole on my traffic receiver but I don't see anything there. Maybe you have a different model receiver?
