I got one fron HSN and have used it for a couple days. Have a 650 that the wife uses. I like it better than the 650 but the FM transmitter doesn't work too well. I had hoped to use it to play music over the car radio but get a lot of static with it.
My Nuvi 750 has worked flawlessly till...I installed the latest firmware update a week or so ago..now the thing gets lost, the vehicle icon is on the sidewalk half the time,and it gets "stuck" while navigating then finds itself minutes later. Nothing has changed in its position in the vehice, or in its use. Going to shoot off an e-mail to tech support to see if anyone else is having these symptoms..
Found this on the above pros and cons:The nuvi 700-series' new slim case design loses the fold-out style patch antenna used on previous Garmin nuvi models, trading convenience for GPS receiver sensitivity. Garmin has compensated for this by issuing a free firmware update that brings SiRF's InstantFixII to the nuvi 750, which actually improves reception beyond the nuvi 650's capability.
Is this included on our current 750 patch?
I have not installed the latest 2.60 upgrade on the 750 and sure would like to hear from some users that have.
I don't know if this helps but I have the 770 that I upgraded to v2.6 and it has been working just fine. It now has Software v2.60; Audio v1.9; GPS SW v3.00s
I am not sure if it is related but I took this on a trip to Barcelona and the battery life wasn't as long as I was hoping it would be on the plane. It only took me a little over 3 hours on the plane if I recall and I had the backlight set down to 30%. I never tested it for long battery life before the upgrade.
The audio version numbers refer to the voice file you have selected. Jill will have a different number from Jack which will have a different number than Karen.
If there is an update available for the voices that are available for your unit it will appear in WebUpdater after you update your firmware.
