Garmin Service Went and did it again

 

They exceed my expectations. I sent my C530 in to have the ball socket replaced/repaired. Paul said it could take up to ten working day, once they received the unit.

Last Wednesday (2/13) I sent it USPS priority and it was received on Friday. Monday the looked at it and decided to send an exchange unit. UPS delivered it today, 2/21.

They restored my Favorites to the new unit. Wish I knew that trick smile Had to reload the POI's and the splash screen plus update from v6.0 to v6.1. But that is more than the time, considering I received a new unit for one that was 10 months old.

For that, I award Garmin Service/Support 5 out of 5 stars.

Customer service is very

Customer service is very important and I think that Garmin gets it. That is what we (my company I work for) rely on...great customer service to our clients.

Good to see

So often on forums people complain about service. It's good to see when a company deserves to be recognized for good service, people speak up about it on a forum.

I knew nothing about POI's and Webupdater when I first got my GPS and before I was a member here. When I had trouble getting POI's (from another site) to work, I called Garmin and the sevice rep spent almost two hours on the phone with me getting my 200 working right. And I didn't have to wait on hold either.

I'd gotten 2 map updates at a discount price. They sent only 1. I made 1 phone call. They had the order on record (like any good company should). Appoligized, and had the second to me in days. They stood by their word even though they had my money long before. I told the cs rep. that the previous customer service rep was great. She commented that that is a very important quality in a company. They have my respect and continued business -not many manufacturers get my dedicated business to only their products any more. I tell anyone who asks on the road to go w/Garmin. Well done Garmin.

Only called Customer Service

Only called Customer Service once so far. The person who answered was very friendly, courteous and helpful.

I think someone said they sometimes monitor/view this site.

I've emailed them twice and received answers within hours. Very helpful, friendly, and understanding. I chose Garmin because of their great gps devices and the glowing positive comments about their customer service. I'm impressed Garmin!

I've called and emailed customer support, they're very prompt and know what they're doing. I can't say the same for a lot of places.

Customer support is tops!

Before I got my Garmin I had a Magellan Roadmate that developed problems. Tried to get service from their customer support - what a joke. It went to a call center who knows where and the person who took my call - after almost a 45 minute hold - couldn't help and said that someone would call me back. Never got the call back so returned the unit to the retailer, paid the difference and got my Nuvi.

I needed to call Garmin about the unit freezing up on me. They worked with me to resolve the issue and now everything is working as it should. Garmin's customer service is excellent - 5 stars. The people at Magellan should get their act together.

I completely agree that Garmin's Customer Servtce is topnotch, I have called them twice and got excellent service and advice both times. Since the Internet has evolved I have used it extensively doing research on companies whose products that I'm considering buying, Garmin's reputation for great customer service convinced me to buy a Nuvi 670 which never fails to amaze me. Last week I was in Florida in a manufactured homes park and all the streets were listed.

Good to Know

I hope that I never have a problem with my 250W. But if I do, it sounds like I will be happy with the resolution. Good customer service is a rarity these days. Usually, when a company has made the sale, they move on to someone else to make another. Rarely do companies take care of their loyal customers.

I e-mailed garmin late friday, I asked them politely if they could send me a "free" mapsource cd, due to the fact that I own several of their products..got a responce early this am from yolanda a second shift tech..she stated it's in the mail.. Get it in 7 days.. So how about that for service!?

I belive when you call or e-mail a company like Garmin or any other electronics company and ask for something special and say I own several of their products. The customer service rep. check their files to be sure that what you said is true.
One good reason to fill out and send in the product registration card.

Hope you guys are right. I deleted the file in my sig and just called them a few minutes ago. They gave me an RMA number to have it sent. I hope when I send it, I get it back someday. It really isn't worth anything now since it doesn't work. I guess I could keep it if I am scared and show friends that I got GPS. When they ask why it is never on, I can say, I'm smart like that. :/

Yes they are great ,my compuper gave up so i had to buy another one but lost the disc for mapsource i emailed garmin and at no cost they are sending me another copy greeeeeeeeat srevice

Based soley on their customer service... I won't look at anything but a Garmin. I just got my friend on at my transportaion company. I told him he needs to find all the right equipment that he wants. He asked me about a cheaper companies gps units. Told him when it comes to gps....only buy Garmin.
