no software

The CD that came with my reciever does not contain any "roadmate tools", it just has a poi editor. I tried adding the cameras file a few differnet ways, but i was just guessing. I need specific instructions if anyone has them.

Try this

Good link; probably MORE than you need to know to get started. The POI Editor is what you need.

First, you must be able to plug your GPS into your computer via the USB cable and have the computer recognize the GPS as an external memory device.
If you have an SD card in the GPS (highly recommended) then it should be recognized as TWO external devices.

If that doesn't work, then all the info. in the above link will be useless.

Thanks for the response. I went to that link, it looked to be much more information than what I need. I am able to connect my gps to my computer, either with the cable (that didn't come with it) that i already had, and with my memory card reader. I think that I successfully added the traffic light camera file, but I cant be sure because as I said before, I was pretty much just using my prior windows knowledge and guessing how to do it. Is there any way to comfirm that the cameras will show up as poi's? can someone give me the address of an intersection where there is definitely a camera so I can navigate there and see if it shows up on my gps display?

You Will Find One........

at the intersection of, Independence Pkwy and State Hwy 121, Plano, Tx.

If you copied something by hand, then it surely will not work. You NEED to use the POI editor to convert the file to .mgln format before putting into the GPS.

After that, you select the custom POI item and see what comes up....should be your file. You can activate it, set alarms and search for the nearest ones.

AND.....you need to go back to that link somebody else gave and read it at least far enough to get the basics. I am NOT going to repeat it here.....and neither should anybody else.
