The coordinates you gave me are in Chicago IL...

I believe the correct line should be line 862 in the posted file... It is much safer to use the address rather than line number, if store numbers are listed they also may be used...

At any rate thank you for taking the time to submit the corrected coordinates. I have changed the poi and posted it.

This store is VERY hard to find. I know, I was there. The map on the target find a store locator is actually pretty close. Even though it shows the store to be in the middle of nowhere with no roads leading to it. Google maps shows the store being no where even close to the actual location. (Why I got lost). And, google satellite picture shows empty fields with construction going on. The roads were put in just prior to the shopping center being built and aren't really on any maps yet. The store is very close to the intersection of Golden Valley and Hwy 14. I plotted a waypoint on map source to get these coordinates. They should be close enough to find the store but should be updated if anyone gets close to it. I MAY get close in about a week. I was there just over 2 weeks ago setting up all the electronic displays in the Electronics department. That's how I know the store number.

The Target file was completely rewritten and updated in Aug. - Sept. 2009 using the latest store location information from the Target website. It is current as of 09/12/2009.

While looking for a Target store in Dothan, Alabama the stock point-of-interest file that ships with the nuvi 755T (version 3.4) showed no Target.

I decided to get a cup of coffee so the nuvi directed me to a Starbucks...inside the brand new Target store.

So Garmin knew about the spankin' new Starbucks, but not the spankin' new Target that housed it. I don't know what it takes to be listed in Garmin's POI, but I found that somewhat puzzling and a bit humorous.

I see that this file correctly lists the Target that Garmin omitted.

That is all.

When I started reading your post, I thought you were going to end up saying that this store was missing from the updated POI file. PHEW! Glad to find out it was there! Otherwise I would have really begun to question my PC skills.

Target has announced that it will be closing 4 stores due to decreasing profitability. The locations are:

Port Richey, FL
Bedford, OH
Stone Mountain, GA
Brownsville, TX

The closing date is set for Jan 30, 2010 and I will update the POI file at that time to remove those locations.

I just finished going through the store locator pages of the Target website looking for any changes. I found no store location changes so the February 2010, csv and gpx files currently available here match the Target store locator as of April 30, 2010.

Target is opening 10 new stores, Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010. While not SuperTargets, all 10 stores offer fresh produce, meat and baked goods.

Both the csv and gpx files were updated today with these new locations.

Target has announced the closing of 2 stores:

-Bonita Springs, Fla. store at 26831 S. Tamiami Trail
-Waterford, Mich. store at 355 Summit Drive

Both stores will close at the end of business on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011. I will be updating the POI files at that time to remove these 2 stores.

The 2 closed stores (FL & MI) have been removed and updated files (csv & gpx formats) uploaded to The Factory.

Also, Target has announced that they will be opening 21 new stores in 2011. These will be added to the POI files when specific address information becomes available from the Target website.

Target USA recently announced that they plan to purchase the Zeller's chain in Canada. To our American cousins, Zeller's is currently a subsidiary of Hudson's Bay Company (the oldest department store chain in the world). Apparently 220 Zeller's outlets across Canada will become Target stores.

So there will be a Target market in Canada!

Target may not be able to use the Target name in Canada as there is a conflict with Target Clothing Co. in Toronto that already has the Canadian rights to the Target name

We are interested, but they are slowly coming.

I just updated the CSV and GPX files for the Target stores. Added new stores & removed closed stores for a net gain of 15 stores. Added notation for all stores with Fresh Grocery.

In the next phase, I will be adding the Target stores located in Canada. I hope to have both files updated with these locations, soon.

Target bought out the Zellers chain in Canada and is aggressively working to convert and open the stores. The total number of locations is 124 across Canada.

At this time, 48 have been opened as Target stores. The remaining 76 are currently under conversion and scheduled to be opened from the summer to late fall of 2013.

The stores not yet opened are noted in the POI files with their scheduled opening time-frame according to the information provided on the Target website. Also, the phone numbers for those stores have not yet been listed in the Target website store directory.

I will be monitoring these stores as Target opens them and updating the POI files accordingly with their current status and information.

Today, Target opened 18 more stores in Canada - BC (2), AB (2), SK (3) & ON (11). Both the CSV & GPX POI files have been updated with these new locations.

I have been into three Target stores in Canada. They seem to have replaced the little coffee shop with Starbucks outlets. I have never been a Bucks fan but the coffee shop made really good popcorn... and it was inexpensive to boot!

I guess I will still have to travel south to shop at Target Stores

On Nov. 13, Target opened 54 more converted Zellers stores across Canada. They are down to the last 2 stores and they are both scheduled to open on Nov. 22.

In the US, 1 store (Dadeland S) was opened in Miami.

The last 2 converted Zellers stores have been opened in Canada - ON & QC.

Both the csv & gpx files have been updated.
