Just want to say hello to the fellow forum members, I use a Garmin Etrex Vista HCx and want to know which program could be used to store, catalog, manipulate, etc POI's before using Garmin's POI uploader. Looking for something basically that works. I have been lurking for a week now and have learned a lot. thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Be sure to read through the 'getting started' and 'faqs' sections linked at the top of each page. Those sections will provide you with TONS of information.

You don't need any special software to create POI files. You can use Notepad or Excel. Just make sure that you put the file in the proper format.

The best thing to do is to download a file and take a look at what one looks like.
