The car power adapter

Do you keep the cigarette lighter / DC adapter plugged into the car, even when you remove the unit?

I was just curious. Will unplugging help prolong the life of the adapter, etc?

titaniummd, I keep mine plugged in all the time. I don't think there is any current going through it unless your 660 is in the adapter. Mine has been plugged in for several months....no affect on it.

I have my GPS and Radar detector plugged into it and can shut them off all at once...works like a charm smile

How well do those splitters

How well do those splitters work? Does it supply enough current to run three things?

I have a 3 way splitter

and it's worked fine. It says it can handle 200w/15A worth of load. My Nuvi and cell phone are a whole lot less than that for what they draw.

... in a European car vs. US? is the polarity the same? Just curious.
