When did the 2008 map come out

Anyone know when did Garmin put out the 2008 map on their GPS? My Garmin 650 just dead. I press the on/off switch, nothing happen, I lost the regristration code and did not regrister in Garmin's wed site. I need this information to convenance the Garmin Support person that my GPS is less than 1 year old.

Does not prove the Age..I have the 2008 map in my Etrex and it is way over a year...But I dont think the 650 has even been out a year. I think it was brought out in the Summer of 2007..?
But it is a great Idea to Register with Garmin when you get a new Unit..

We were still getting conflicting info from the Garmin Camp on May 31, 2007, including whether the new maps were to be called V9 or V2008; so Garmin may not even know the answer. See:

As far as when will Garmin give free v2008 updates; this, too, is up for argument. Some of us bought our GPS units in January and got a free update!
