OREGON SWIMMING HOLES

Garmin .csv format file from www.swimmingholes.org/or.html

ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS FROM THE *COPYRIGHTED* WEB SITE www.swimmingholes.info.
ALWAYS GET THE FULL LISTING FROM THE WEB SITE BEFORE USING OR YOU MAY BE VERY FRUSTRATED.

We would recommend that the GPS user should go to www.swimmingholes.info and print the STATE MAP and print the LISTINGS for the places you intend to go to then take this info with you as well as the GPS data file above.

EXPLANATION OF FIELDS:

FIELD 1: LONGITUDE (NAD 83)(most AUTO GPS units use NAD83)
FIELD 2: LATITUDE (NAD 83)

FIELD 3: FOR EXAMPLE: "OR-SWEET HOME AREA-CALAPOOIA RIVERgeneral/nohike"

OR=STATE
SWEET HOME AREA = AREA NAME (if present - corresponds to MAIN AREA web site listing)
CALAPOOIA RIVER = SWIMMING HOLE NAME (corresponds to SUB AREA web site listing)

general = our estimate of the ACCURACY of the coordinates.
DO NOT USE "GENERAL" COORDINATES FOR AUTO OR HIKING NAVIGATION!
Codes as below:
exact: Means we think that if you get in the swimming hole with your GPS set on NAD83 you will read these coordinates (hopefully).
approx: Means that we think the swimming hole is within .25 miles of these coordinates.
general: Means that we think the swimming hole is within .5 to 1 mile of these coordinates.

nohike = our estimate of how close the swimming hole is to a road.
DO NOT USE "HIKE" OR "NOINFO" COORDINATES FOR AUTO NAVIGATION!
Codes as below:
hike = Walk over .25 miles from nearest road
nohike =Walk .25 miles or less from the nearest road
noinfo = We have not extracted this info from the directions yet- see the directions in the listing

AUTO NAVIGATION GPS NOTE:
NOTE: THESE COORDINATES ARE FOR THE SWIMMING HOLE ITSELF AND MAY BE FAR FROM A ROAD.
Going to a swimming hole is not exactly like going to a Starbucks - (especially if there is a hike involved of course)
issues etc.
