Should downloaded .bmp icons display on the Nuvi 260?

Should downloaded .bmp icons display on the Nuvi 260? I made sure the file names match and they do not display.

.

You probably need to zoom in further.

Go to your Custom POI list on your nuvi. Select a location. Select the button to view it on the map and zoom all the way in. You probably need to be zoomed in to 300 feet or closer.

MM is correct (of course!).

MM is correct (of course!). If you are looking for the icons to associate with a saved favorites, they won't show up there. Uploaded icons can only be associated with uploaded POI.

Same Problem

I have the same model and the same problem. I uploaded my POI using a csv file and a bmp file of the same name. The destination point show up as a checkered racing flag instead of the icon and it does not matter how much I zoom. Any other suggestions?

.

Try it without setting the point as a destination on a route. Just view it on the map.

Solved My Problem

I figured out my problem. I renamed my csv and bmp files so that they do not include spaces. I makes things easy if you use a convention called camel case. That is when you capitalize the first letter of each word (PABoatRamps.csv). I reloaded with this change and the icons now show up for me. Hope this help you out.

Same Problem - New Issue

I did change the file names to eliminate spaces. That resolved the Best Buy icon issue.

It didn't resolve the Target stores icon.

It also appears that the Poi files are not properly working either. The Target file, which contains my home store, does not come up with a store search by spelling. Closest one listed is 46 miles away.

It doesn't matter which way the POI file is named - space or not.

WHERE are you searching?

Where are you searching? The main search function only searches the built-in POI's. It does not search your personal loaded POI's as well. To search your own POI list, you have to open it and then tap Spell.

Of course, if you only have Target stores in the Target file, there is little need to search in order to find the closest one. They will be listed as the 50 closest to you, in ascending distance.
