Texas Camera locations

It was just the paper yesterday that Dallas is adding 100 more red light cameras. Recently one was put on Lovers Lane. This has proven to be a real cash cow for Dallas and the 'Burbs.

Sorry, I am late on this post. There is a town in the Dallas area that installed 5 red light cams and reported first year earnings of $3.8M. This was in a local newspaper.

I put together a file with 60 Dallas Red Light cameras I took from the data from a list published by the city of Dallas. Probably you have something better, but let me know in case you don't so I can share my file with you.

I also put together other files for red lights in the places I ride most frequently, Plano, Garland, Irving, Denton, etc.

Let me know whether these would be useful.

I dont really support cameras because it is just too cold!!!

So far, to the best of my knowledge, College Station has not yet put up any of the cameras. I'll be more than happy to report their locations when they go up for comparison to the locations currently listed for the city. At least one current PoI for CS is an intersection near me that isn't listed as a proposed camera, but that information might have changed and escaped my notice. We do have intersection cameras for controlling the lights which did cause some confusion early on.

I think that they are adding 40 more, which will give them 100.

They were going to put them up earlier this year in College Station but the changes in the law made them decide to delay until next year.

Thanks for the list. Once they are up we will need to look at the ones on the list that don't really exist. If the cameras are successful, to the city gov't at least, I'm sure we will get more.
edit: Which of course, the link posted made clear but I didn't read first.

The cameras at the listed locations are up and running now - although we are still in a state of grace until the 18th.

I need to figure out how to take out the false locations that are currently in the file so I don't get duped by false warnings.

Okay, I figured out how to delete the one incorrect location on my downloaded file. Just in time as today is the start of the actually ticketing.

If you find an incorrect location, please send it to Miss POI for inclusion in the master file so that everyone has the most accurate information.
