Marking a location and later converting to a POI ?

I'm slowly getting the hang of things with my Nuvi 200, I have most features working. I would like to note some speed zones as I drive through them in the next few days , note the location on the Nuvi , and then somehow turn the location into a custom POI with audio alert. Anyone have any tips on how to do this ? I know that all I need is the Lon/Lat and can make my own CSV file with alert range, but how do I convert the location stored as a favourite in the Nuvi back to raw lon/lat data ? I don't want to pull over and write down the LON/LAT .

.

You can copy the current.gpx file from your nuvi, convert it to a CSV using POI Edit, and then make your file.

OK, how do I do that? How do I access the GPX file ?

You can use Mapsource

Use Mapsource connected to your GPSr to transfer the Favorites into Mapsource Waypoints. You can then view the lat and lon and also create a .gpx file to use on your GPSr.

Yeah, Like MM said, POIEdit

Yeah, Like MM said, POIEdit works and I like it very much. All I have to do is install it, then go to the nuvi drive under GPX folder and open the file using POIEdit. I then do a "Save As" and same it as a Garmin Comma Delimited file.

MapSource Disk

I e-mailed Garmin with a request for the mapsource disk. The reply was that it would cost me another $15. I feel that the disk should be included with the GPSr considering the msrp. I have seen on this forum where those that called Garmin got seemingly better responses, i.e. free disk. I believe I will try calling them.

Call.

I got the same email response, but when I called, expecting to pay $15, the rep said they'd send free.

Thanks for all the tips, I used POI Edit and managed to perform the task without any problems.
