Alerts and sound not working

Hi, I have read how to dowload and move to my 660, but the problem I have is the alerts work for some but not all. I have two walmarts by me one alerts me and one doesn't. Do you need to be on a certion street in order for the alert to work. I have the poi, the alert and the pic, all with the same name in the same file. I have the school list also and it won't alert me to the zone unless I tell it to take me to the school. I also used the garman poiloader to put all of this on my sd card. Sorry about the long post didn't want to post several ones.
