Adding direction to the poi file

Is there any way to take into account the direction you are going for a proximity alert on a garmin? For example, if you are approaching an intersection but you only want the alert if you are approaching it from a certain direction. Is this possible if using a gpx instead of a CSV?

The unit can do it, but Garmin haven't (yet) provided a way to access this functionality. (Garmin's own Safety Camera Databases contain directional alerts)

So there is no way to have

So there is no way to have the unit only alert for cameras that are on your route? I wasn't aware that garmin had their own camera database.

Really? That would be sweet

Really? That would be sweet to know from a certain direction. The Red Light POIs on this sight have worked great, but will go off when I get close to a Red Light camera no matter what direction I am travelling

I think it's currently only available in Europe - because we've got the most cameras sad

I think the way it works, is by marking multiple Alert Circles, that you have to pass through in order. Garmin's Content Toolkit - aka GPI Creator alludes to this, but the 'documentation' made no sense and the support was non-existent. My trial has expired and I'm not even slightly tempted to pay $500 p.a for the full product.

I wrote a program to compile

I wrote a program to compile a CSV based on an input of intersections. The program connected to Yahoo to geocode the intersection and if yahoo was unable to geocode it, it would then go to google for the coordinates. Anyways, it will alert me even when I am driving on an expressway. Not sure if this is because of the coordinates or because it isn't taking direction into account. I don't have access to the database here so I don't know if it does the same thing.
