Garmin C330 2008 update says that my C330 don't have enough memory. Why?

I have owned a c330 gamin for a year or so. I hooked my garmin up to my computer and went to the Gamin site and checked to see if my gamin was updatable. Their site said that it was. So I went to circuit city and bought the 2008 map updates and it says right on the software that c330 will work. I am now trying to update and it says that I don't have enough memory to update it. I bought a 2 gig SD card and that didn't help. Does anyone know what I should do? Thanks,, Brad

That is because the 2008 update is so much Larger then the ver.8 so you can only load the US by it self or Alaska and Canada by is self what i did was on my C330 i loaded the US and then i bought an SD Card and loaded Alaska And Canada on the Card and only time i use the card is if i have to run into Canada

My mother-in-law bought one of these on Black Friday and she just ordered the 2008 update. Does it matter which SD card she buys for this? I have never dealt with SD cards. Is one just like another or are some better than others for use with the C330? Also, she will be out of town when this arrives and it will be sent to our farm. Can I load the maps onto my computer and use them until she returns in the spring or does the install pretty much only work when the GPS they are to be used with is connected to the computer?

Buy the cheapest SD card you can find. The ones that talk about speed and are more expensive won't work any better in your unit than the cheapest. The maps are loaded to the device through your computer. At that time "Map Source" will be loaded on your computer which will have the same imformation. At least that's how it worked with my c330 update. You have a choice to load the lower 48 on the unit and can load Canada & Alaska on an SD card which only requires a 512mb SD card. Do a search on this site for how to do this, I've posted the procedure several times...
