Are Windmills an Endangered Species?

I am continuously finding answers to my questions in forum postings. I just found another one today to the "Better Route" question that I recently asked... The result of finding these answers in the forum has created somewhat of a reluctance on my part to ask any questions. Just makes me wonder... if no one were to ever asked any question for which an answer had already been posted somewhere within the forum, how many windmills would one see?
I guess if not asking questions that had not been asked before were the theme, some of us would be relegated to asking questions such as this one -- which probably provides little value to anyone ... except the poster looking to keep a windmill alive..
On the other hand, many have said that there is no such thing as a dumb question. So if in future I were to post something that falls into this cagegory, please forgive me in advance.

Grandad,
Grandad,
I'm lost. I thought perhaps you were upset that someone had been dismissive of a question you asked and/or suggested you look it up in the archives. However, looking back at your referenced question and Mororcycle Mama's always great response, that was not the case. Why have you become reluctant to ask questions?
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
Just to clarify
I am in no way upset!!! Far from it. This forum is a GREAT source of information.
My reluctance is based on first me trying to do my homework first before asking a question for which an answer has already been provided.. I realied this only after asking my first question and then later researching the forum to see that had if I had first sifted through the forum, I would not have had to ask my question...
But the MAIN point of my above post wasn't the above. Instead, it was an indirect way of saying the the wealth of information contained in this forum is so extensive that if one were relegated to only asking questions that had not been asked before, this activity would endanger the Windmill..
Hey, its Friday so this comment falls into that kind of bucket. So I guess this post truely falls into the "blowing wind" bucket... Isn't that what the windmill is all about?

Which is why we have the Chatty Charlie thread to keep our windmills spinning.
I plan to live forever. So far, so good.

Perfect response! Another comment for which there is an answer within the forum or FAQ or other.. Makes me chuckle at myself.. This site has it all!!!

We don't mind
Sometimes it is easier to link to a node than to retype it all, and the original is more complete. Not a problem. I think that sometimes you don't know really what questions to ask or what word to look up - so you have to ask a new question.
I find it a help to look back at topics and see how things have changed in a year - because of software or just someone else finding a better way to do it.

All the questions will never be answered.
There are always new people, new GPS units, new POI files, new sounds, new alerts, and so on.
And sometimes the past answers don't exactly answer the new question. Or people simply can't find what they are looking for.
So I wouldn't worry about the site running out of posts.
And I agree, there are no dumb questions.

And I agree, there are no dumb questions.
But there is the occasional dumb statement with a question mark attached...
Yes folks, that's a joke....

Dumb questions
And I agree, there are no dumb questions.
But there are dumb people asking questions? I'm looking at one of them in the mirror.

forums in general
When I ask a question and someone points out that the answer already exists, I admit I feel (a little) foolish. But it's worse when I've looked for the answer first! Then I feel foolish AND incompetent!

looks like Miss POI got her talons in someone with talons themselves. When you fly away for a while I have to come chase you to keep you around. I have successfully re-engaged your brain again and your windmill will be back in a few weeks. I sent you an email;)

Birds like me
Miss POI,
Don't you know that birds like me need to be tethered or we fly away?!!
Thanks!
