Which vehicle do you use?

Now that the Garmin Garage is expanding with the "12 vehicles of Christmas," which "vehicle" does everyone use?

I've used the standard triangular arrow, and recently switched to the 3D arrow.

It's Christmas....

The sleigh of course!

The main reason: less graphic details -> faster screen refresh rate -> better accuracy! cool
Also, I'm listening to Jill, no need to look at her... wink ... too often, anyway.

Although I have little use

Although I have little use for the titanium plated rails in Florida, the KrisKringle Turbo-charged Sleigh is my vehicle of choice.

I changed to the tree for the holidays, then I will go back to the Big Monster Truck.

3D Arrow

I use the 3D arrow. I find the other vehicle icons too large and out of scale when the map zooms out.

I don't see how will the refresh of the screen be better or faster if it is also an icon. The size is the same or almost the same. Except if your Jill is displayed as a nice beautiful woman full screen -- now this needs better refresh wink

Minivan

I use the minivan in honor of my 10 year companion that I had to replace this year. I've now got a standard 4 door family sedan, but none of the icons fit the look for me. I would like a train engine.

edit: Currently using the Blue Nosed Reindeer.

I agree - I can definitely see better accuracy with the built-in arrow than with the downloadable ones. Faster screen refresh, and the point of the arrow reaches the cross streets exactly when my car does.

The 3D Arrow is the only option I have.... works fine for me.

I notice no difference

I notice no difference whether I use a custom icon or the arrow in screen update time on my 660.

I like the police car...it makes me feel more powerful:)

Try it with no vehicles

Try it once with no vehicles at all in your vehicle folder. There is a default blue pointer that is different than the ones that you can download. The only way to see it is to delete everything in your vehicles folder. It's obviously built into ROM. After trying quite a few different vehicles, including the downloadable arrows, I noticed this difference: The screen itself seems to update as often as it always did. But there was a noticeable pointer lag between all of the downloadable vehicles vs the built-in one that you get if you delete everything in the vehicles folder. It "hits" the intersection at exactly the same time as I do. With anything else, I am actually through the intersection by the time the arrow (or other vehicle) reaches it. So they seem to lag my actual position by about 1 second. These "tests" were with travelling about 40 mph, crossing residential side streets every block, in 3D mode on a Nuvi 350. Hey, gotta do something to amuse myself during my daily 45 minute commute! wink Other models may not necessarily exhibit this behavior.

I downloaded the black pearl

I downloaded the black pearl and used it briefly but I switched back to the 4x4.

which car do you use

I use the convertible since that is the car I use the garmin in.

Gray sedan

Garmin Garage now has a gray sedan. It's just the coupe with the B-pilar relocated, but it might be a closer match.

The stock one, but I will download the new ones from Garmin. rolleyes

vehicle

I just downloaded the christmas bundle from Garmin and now use the Billy the Blue Nosed Reindeer

I use the blue monster truck

I use the blue monster truck to match my work truck. I drive an F-350 4x4 diesel dually service truck. You'd think it would be great in snow but during friday's snow storm the best I could do was 30 mph. It took me 5 hrs. to get home and was a complete nightmare driving in whiteout conditions during which my drivers wiper blade snapped off in the high speed lane!! Winter ans snow stinks!!!

I've been using the blue

I've been using the blue car, but will switch to Billy for my Christmas Expedition.

Question for those using one of the arrows -- is your current location at the tip of the arrow? With the car icon, it's driving me crazy that my actual location is somewhere in the middle of the car icon -- not to mention the disproportionate size of the car that sometimes spans several city blocks! wink

at the bottom now

I'm using a downloaded silver arrow and the current location shows at the bottom of it.
For a location at the tip see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/7720

I typically use the blue sedan, but since the addition of the Christmas vehicles I am using the Christmas tree. I can't wait to see what else they add!

The Standard Blue Arrow

I like the standard blue arrow as it is easy to glance at the pointed direction to the intersections of the streets

I still have billy blue nose, I didn't like the one for today(light bulb).

I'm back to the blue arrow.

I'm back to the blue arrow. Tried the Christmas tree and it really slowed the screen refresh rate down on my 660.

Billy doesn't show up very well -- he was a disappointment. I like the tree and blue bulb.
