I have a question, how did you "just get" a c550? If it was a gift, thank that person several times. If you bought it, that's a lot of change without research. I researched for weeks before buying mine. My decision came down to the SiRF chipset, integrated traffic receiver, screen is readable even in bright sunlight, bluetooth compatible with my cell phone, and I wanted one that would speak street names, not just "turn left or right". There are features I wish the 550 had that it doesn't. But after my research, I found the one that I thought was right for my needs. As far as the high sensitive receiver, I pick up a full signal usually within a few seconds, and it's not mounted near the windshield at all. I think it would pick up a signal if it were lying on the floor.

I think if you do a side by side comparison, I think you'll keep the 550...what ever you do just have fun with it!

I didnt do the research but after it was given to me I realized it was a top unit. Glad the person who gave it was so thoughtful, My Wife
