Nuvi Case

For anyone looking at cases for their widescreen Nuvi's, I just noticed that it fits quite nicely in the zippered case for my Western Digital Passport Drive. It's just very slightly loose, but not a bad fit.

Are you absolutely positive about, quackinup?
The WD site is listing the interior dimensions as 5.4" x 3.3" x 0.5"; the 6xx series are 4.9" x 2.9" x 0.9" and the 7xx are 4.8" x 3.0" x 0.8"...

I bet he is since he tried it...at least that is how I read it.

Ahhh, you make a good point,

Ahhh, you make a good point, if anything, one would think it was a bit snug (sorta like my suit I tried on after a year and now I had to go out and get a new one)

I want my nuvi to feel as comfortable in its case as you in your new suit!

Great Choice

I too use that case. It is a great case and you don't have to worry about the unit slipping out of the Garmin case like can happen with the nüvi 7xx series that use the same case as the nüvi 6xx series.

That's actually the dimension that I think is the loosest. But the drive is snug in it and may have stretched it slightly. The neoprene gives quite a bit. I'm betting the interior measurement is based on the drive being in it (which is slightly larger in the other dimensions) and pulling it taught.

Now, I'm assuming the accessory one is the same as the one that came with the drive. It looks identical, and appears to measure the same.

Case for Nuvi 750

I appreciate your suggestion of the western digital case. I just bought a Nuvi 750 and can't believe there isn't a dedicated case for it. Why wouldnt Garmin have one available? I ordered the Garmin case for the 6XX series from Amazon for lack of anything better that I could find. Reviews said the 7XX series will be loose however and will fall out if you turn it upside down! Didnt like the sound of that, but after just my first day of using the unit, I can see that a case is essential when carrying it about.

I'll check out the western digial. What are others using?

CaseLogic 2.5" Hard Drive Case

I also use a CaseLogic 2.5" Hard Drive Case that runs about $10. It is a rigid case that is a little bigger, but has space to carry the traffic/power cord.

I keep the Garmin case inside under the elastic and just slip the Nüvi in and out of that case. It is a secure setup with a zipper so there is no chance of slipping out. With the Garmin case inside, it is also held firm and has protection for the screen.

Case for Garmin 750

Hey Bill, that sounds like a good solution you came up with! I guess I'll keep the Garmin case when it comes and use it inside one of the zippered cases. I'm still amazed that Garmin would not include some kind of cover/case with the 750. Not even a cheap vinyl one to make do till you can get something better! Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. I'll check out the CaseLogic and the western digital.

Seems like you got a bad deal.

Did you buy it off ebay, or is the unit refurbished?
I bought from circuit city and costco and both units come with case, chargers cords and registeration papers.

Bought it new

ZedRight,
I bought this one new, not refurbished. The Quick Start booklet has a list of everything that's included in the box and there is no case included with the 750. You must have bought a different model. I know the 6XX's had a case included.

2 cases!

Maybe I'm over reacting (no wonder after seeing the credit card statement sad((, but I like to keep my 660 inside its original leather case and both inside the 3rd party's shoulder-strapped cushioned case; the screen looks really fragile to me...

Zippered case from Kel Tec. The one that comes with their P32 and P3AT pistols. Can be ordered separately. Cheap.

Leather?! My 680 didn't come with real leather case but fake-leather-vinyl-"Made in China" special ;-)

It fits just a little too tight for me but I think it would strecth if I used it more.

I did find some real leather cases here
http://www.ebcases.com/Categories.bok?category=GPS+Cases%3AG...
where I have gotten other cases before for my Pocket PC and really liked the quality. I haven't gotten one for my GPS though to let you know of the fit. It has a flip over velcro latched cover so no worries about it falling out

Garmin 750 Hard Case

For those who are looking for a hard and durable case (not to put in your pocket but to put in your briefcase/backpack, etc) I found one from "Otterbox" (www.otterbox.com). The one that fits the 750 almost perfect is the model 2000.

The Garmin 750 dims are 4.8"x3.0"x0.8" and the case Internal Dims are 5.757"x3.140"x0.979". The case external dims are 6.857"x4.571"x1.827". It fits very well and has thin padding inside to protect my GPS. Although this case is too bulky to put in your pocket (unless you have really big pockets), for $17.95 it offers great protection.

another one

Check www.pocketpctechs.com, they're selling nice cases & screen protectors.
