I've created a MONSTER!!!

Monster food .csv POI combining many, many restaurants from POI Factory. Just put them all into one file and cleaned it up by correcting spellings, adding names, deleting location by area lines that won't load correctly. I'll send it in if anyone's interested. Each restaurant is the complete list from here and several were "stitched" together if they were only listed state by state. The restaurants are:

Applebee's

Wow! Looks Great!

So, how does one go about getting a copy of this monster?

Don't know

I uploaded it to this site, but it's not showing. Miss POI said she had to check on something about combined files because they are changing stuff on the site. I need to upload it again since I added a bunch more restaurants after I learned how to convert .gpx files to .csv files. But, I won't waste the time until I'm sure Miss POI will allow it.

I want to take a minute to

I want to take a minute to address the problems and confusion that would arise if I were to honor this request.

Imagine what would happen if ever member of this community put together different packages that they combined themselves. We would have a huge unorganized unmanageable mess.

We need to be careful with how things are organized here on the site. We might at some time make more groupings of files but not until the files have all be converted. In a new tool if you change something in one file, it changes it in all the files that that one location is in.

Personal Preference

I'd rather have the flexibility to add the restaurants I'm interested in separately, not to mention I like each chain to have it's distinctive logo as well.

Already in most

A lot of those restaurants seem to already be programed into my Nuvi, from Garmin. And Like others have said some of those I would not want to have in my list. POIs need to be more Personal I guess the word would be.

But there are a LOT of restaurants in there that people DO want. What's so hard about opening the file in Excel, highlight what you don't want, right click, delete and save? It's a lot quicker than putting it together, for sure.

.

As Miss poi indicated, The files here could be combined in any number of ways; and there isn't a good solution in place for managing updates across files.

So for now at least, we are going to continue with a focus on gathering new locations and keeping things up-to-date rather than re-grouping what's already been shared on the site.

Additional groupings might be nice at some point, we're just not ready to manage them.
