System Software Missing

Don't know if anyone else had this problem and the fix but thought it would good to post.

I recently updated my 660 to the latest software, 4.20. When I turned on the unit I got the splash screen with a message saying System Software Missing. After picking my heart up off the floor, I started trouble shooting. Tried soft and hard resets, no good. Connected to PC, unit not seen. What finally saved my butt was when I started searching the User Guide. I mistakenly opened the guide for the 680 and without realizing it used the 680's method for recalibration (Press and hold POWER button for about one minute). I didn't get the calibration screen, instead got a series of messages saying something about software reloading. I continued holding the POWER button until no further messages were seen. Released button and unit powered up normally!!

Didn't Lose Any Data

No data loss. I had back up but the unit wasn't recognized by the PC. After the "fix", everything was there including the new update.
