I was looking at the Nokia N810 online and the price is about the same as some GPS only devices. It will be interesting to see if the GPS functionality is as robust as other GPS devices. My suspicions are that it will not have as many features as higher end GPSs, but it is interesting to see the convergence of GPS with other devices.

Multi functional GPS
That is pretty cool. Now Garmin will have to put out a Nuvi 800 series with integrated computer.
Anyone With N810/GPS Experience?

Well, I am having thoughts about "gifting" myself an N810. I've been looking at the N810 and an ASUS "eee" PC. Both small, cheap (under $400) LINUX/internet "appliances". But as noted, the N810 has a built-in GPS.
Does anyone have an N810, or experience with one? I am really leaning towards the N810, not just for the GPS. But if experienced users give it a thumbs up, that would be the tipping point for me!
Thanks to all in advance!!!

So has anyone bought the N810 and liked it?
The default program Map made
The default program Map made by Wayfinder is no longer supported and updated. There are other mapping software like Navit (SVN so very alpha), RoadMap, MaemoMapper (best probably and uses Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft Maps).
But the device itself while a great jack of trades doesn't do great at each of them. It's a decent GPS to get you from point A to B (you'll have to download your route before you leave from an internet access point however unless you bridge your phone and tablet together). But it doesn't do that great for POI and rerouting.
I have an n800, same hardware minus the built in GPS, hard keyboard, and transreflective screen. But I use a GPS thru a bluetooth one. Software and hardware specs like CPU are exactly the same otherwise. For a GPS for car navigation I really wouldn't recommend it over a dedicated GPS. But if you just want to get from point A to B and don't panic when you have to reroute without its assistance it does the job decently.
