Just wondering if there are any viruses out yet, lurking in the dark, preying on our little toys...
Is it possible to plant any "nasties" into GPS units, maybe via "custom POIs"?... or through an infected SW/map from manufacturer's website?
Tom Tom shipped a virus
I have not heard of any in the wild infecting GPS but last year Tom Tom shipped units with a virus.

I guess the concern would be if a virus could be part of a POI file? My guess is that the GPS only reads a text file to overlay the info over its map. I don't what mischief could occur by adding other data.

Now we have to all buy the MAC version of our GPS. Macs dont concern themselves with those Nasty little virus's
I don't think so

I don't think so

I do not think viruses can
I do not think viruses can really harm flash based hardware... The only thing that can harm it is a bad flash or flashing with corrupted firmware...
That just my 2 cents though...
