Now most software have free update, like cell phone too.
but only garmin don't give their customers get free update??? their software is very specific ????

It's not the software but rather the map data that is expensive to obtain and maintain. Garmin purchases their map data from Navteq. They have to pay for it. But even if they produced themselves, there is significant costs that goes into to the data.
Garmin DOES provide FREE updates to the software for MapSource, POI Loader, etc.
There's no comparison to cell phones.

It is that way keep more coustomers, because, you know, someone just want to buy gps only, most user don't want pay other fee, you want no one know how manay map data they upgrade ????
I'm first time to use GPS, I don't know about that, so you guys have any file can share???
