...but in the end memory is memory. The advantage of leaving it in one place, like the SD card is that it's easier to organize and see just what you've got, if all of your data of one type, like POI's, or MP3's, are in a single memory system, rather than scattered around.

And, if you have a certain amount of healthy paranoia, leaving it on the SD card keeps you from snooping around the unit's memory while it's hooked up to the computer, where you might accidentally delete that which should be left alone, and really foul up your life.

Thanks for the comment. That is about what I thought but I get tired of every time I turn the unit on it asks if I want to transfer the data.
