How do I get out of a loop? (nuvi 660 / maintenance mode)

I have a nuvi 660 and have never had any problems with it, until now. When I power up the unit it says “Do you really want to start up in maintenance mode?” The screen does not respond so it does not matter if I press no or yes. I have got it to respond a few times to no and it just reboots and comes back to the same screen. It seems like the screen does not respond to any input and I can’t get it out of this loop. I have tried holding down the power button but that just boots it back to the same screen. Anyone know what is going on? More importantly how do I fix it? Thanks in advance for any help you may give me.

If you tried everything that you say you did, I would call Garmin Tomorrow to see what they have to say. Also if you are still under the Warranty

I will have to send it back

I did as you suggested and sent an email to Garmin. This is the reply;

Thank you for contacting Garmin International, We can go ahead and setup an RMA in warranty repair on the unit basically there is not much I can help you do in the way of troubleshooting this type of a problem, sounds like you have done the majority of your own troubleshooting, just reply back to me and I will get the ball rolling on an RMA for repair to your unit . With Best Regards,
