Howdy,
I have a csv folder for speed alerts where I have various speed zones on my route to work. In conjunction with the speed alert I'd like to load different speed icons. The icon library is great that you offer users. Thanks
Additionally I really appreciate the FAQ at the bottom of the icon page on how to load icons. My question is do I have to make a separate speed .csv file for each speed reduction such as 40 mph. 50 mph, 55 mph, etc. ?
I understand how the icon .bmp file has to match the speed alert files. So that means I have to have a seperate .csv file for each speed reduction to match the corresponding speed icon. Right?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes
one for each zone
speed_forty.csv
speed_forty.bmp
speed_fifty.csv
speed_fifty.bmp
You already have the data, you'll just have to separate them into the appropriate zones.
Then put them all back into your "speed alerts" folder. you'll end up with...
extras
custom poi
speed alerts
speed_forty
speed_fifty
etc

Seperate .csv files in speed folder
Ismonop,
Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time in answering my question and laying it all out in an easy manner to understand.

file names
If you don't want to have to put the speed data in every line of each file put the speed in the file name. I think you have to use numbers, not words, such as:
Speed Alert 40.csv
Speed Alert 45.csv
etc.

Lsmonop,

No problem John.
As mentioned by gdfaini you could include the speed as a number into the file name. Even as simple as:
45mph.csv
45mph.bmp
65mph.csv
65mph.bmp
I don't know how you have them set up, but there is more than one way to get speed alerts. The choice is yours.
set the speed via poi loader
Or set each as an individual using the @## such as
-97.1234,32.4321,Highway xx@65
-97.4567,32.7890,Highway xx@50
No matter which method you choose in order to have the unit give you speed alerts, if you want to use an icon or custom bmp you will need the bmp file to be named exactly as the main csv(or gpx)file for that group. Which would give you the bmp display as questioned in your original post.
