Please advise me where to put the POI files for Canadian content. I uploaded teh curling clubs for metro Halifax under sports but maybe I should've placed them under "Canada". Same applies for toll roads in Nova Scotia. Placed them under transportation not Canada.
Could someone provide me some guidance?

OK how? Upload them twice under each area?
Tom
You can actually put them
You can actually put them into more then one category by using your ctrl button:)

Thanks, as usual - SHOULD I put them in more than one category, says he?
The more deliberate question is should we look at consolidating Canada into the main categories and removing the Canada category as there are many overlaps. Point here is if we have a naming convention (My personal pet peeve) then we could conceivable get rid of yet another category.
BTW I would be happy to assist in the renaming project

If consolidating means losing selection criteria, what is the benefit? Why can't files be selected ad hoc based on (potentially standardized) keywords? In this way the current categories would be the one click way to enter a common keyword search.
Until there is this or similar functionality, I believe files should be thoroughly cross referenced.
I like the idea of naming conventions, though that feels like it's too structured and confining. Perhaps it's the POI Factory Style Guide: a reference to naming and more.

I can't disagree that we need the most functionality we can get; but I'm having to look in a number of places for a file - can't get it through my thick skull that why not CREATE States and put everything for a state inside a category.
Reason is it doesn't make snese when there is so much overlap between the states for some items. The same applies for the category Canada - it has overlap to the US. To wit I now have files in both and while I do not object, I do not see the point. (BTW I AM Canadian!)
Naming conventions - appears there is some move to create just that if you look at the file names - makes some sense. I know we can change the name AFTER it is downloaded but why not some (stress some) structure around names.
Ah food for thought!!

Although it's like finding an Easter egg when you do find the POI you're looking for, it'd be best if things were where you first looked for them. An appropriately cross referenced file will be where it is sought.

Files on my PC/GPSr are stored where I want them.

Files in multiple locations on POI - not my computer (other than for backing up purposes
