Nuvi 660 problem! Won't charge... Info here.

Hello, I just joined - was very excited about using traffic light POIs...
Just got a Nuvi 660, for Chistmas... been using it for the last few days.
Last night I got busy and did the software update through Garmin.com. Then found your site through their links... used POI Loader to load the traffic lights, and several other POI files.
Today, after using it for a few hours, the lighting bolt in the middle of the battery life box went away and the unit stopped charging!
Unit is dead now, I read of some other people having problems after updating? Has anyone had these problems or know of an answer?
I bought it at Best Buy... gonna try to just go return it and get a new one.
Disappointed right now... HELP!!!

Nuvi 660 not charging
I had that problem with my 350 when first purchased. Press the reset button behind the GPS antenna and see if that helps. Worked for me.
Mine is working OK after the update
I also got one for Christmas (my wife is awesome). I did the update to the latest version (2.7)last night and I have had no problems. My charge continues to work on both the car and house charger. Hopefully you just got a bad unit and they will replace it without any issue.

Mine is working/charging after update from 2.3 to 2.7
I wonder if the problem stems from which earlier version of the software you updated from ? I would try the 'reset' as someone already suggested. Luckily you bought it from a place close by and with great exchange/return policy !

Just got my 660 also for Christmas. Updated it and it is working great. Can't wait to drive it is a trafic alert area to see how it does.

Just received the 660 and took a trip from Columbus Oh to Cincinnati. Worked great! I also downloaded the latest version and no issues.
did the reset button work?
I just got my nuvi as well and I have read about this same incident on other websites. I am a bit nervous about downloading the upgrade to the nuvi....If the reset button worked then I will download but if it didn't and nothing else seemed to work then I will wait to download the upgrade.

No Problem
I got my Nuvi 660 for my birthday in November. I updated it and have had no problems whatsoever. A friend of mine got a different model Garmin and had a problem with the car charger. Garmin replaced it right away. Good Luck!

Likewise, my nuvi660 updated to v2.7 without hesitation and has been working for over 3 weeks. It would be nice to know about the outcome of the fix by BestBuy or Garmin.
Garmin provides a limited number of POI links. Please post more if you find others.
Nuvi 660 charging & updating
Before updating and adding Poi's you should probably make shure your battery is charged more that 50% I have had problems with the unit locking up if the charge % is less. And you should always reboot the unit after any downloads or updates. Hope this helps.

I updated my 660 to 2.7 on Christmas day and it has been working great ever since. No charging problems at all.
