I purchased my nuvi 350 in april of 2007, do I still have to pay 70.00 to get my unit updated with the new 2008 north america map. ??

According to Garmin if you've only had your unit for less than 30 days you won't have to pay. Otherwise if you email and explain your problem they (might) offer thr update for half price. I just went through the same issue.

Their current cut off date is May 1. You could still try as Crashmanager suggested.
