This week we're recognizing, Canoe-NC and Mrbiker!

Mrbiker has been a member of POI Factory for over 17 years and Canoe-NC for over 3.

This week I'm appreciating the discussion started by Mrbiker on EV Chargers and Tesla Superchargers POI Files (wishing for)

While we don't have a Tesla, we did pick up a 2014 Nisson Leaf last summer and have been learning about the pros and cons of EV's. We had considered getting electric bikes but found this was actually less expensive and could still get us to most of our local stuff in the cold Idaho winters.

So, I appreciate the discussion. I continue to learn a great deal from the shared experience of our community here at POI Factory.

Thank you for your varied contributions to the POI Factory, forums as well as POI files. I am not an EV owner and probably never will be, but it is interesting to read about the charger issues. smile

COW Thanks You

Hi Everyone,

It's really an honor to be a COW. A big MOOOOOOO of thanks to all who wrote congratulations!

I joined POI factory after getting a Garmin Zumo 665 for motorcycle touring in 2007. I've done many cross-country trips on the bike with the Zumo loaded with POI Factory files. For weeks, it was my only companion, providing satellite radio and directions.

In 2023 and in 2024 I took automobile road trips through some very remote areas of the U.S. Last year's trip was with my brother - over 2,000 miles with the intent of hitting as many Civil War sites as possible. Hidden gem: National Museum of Civil War Medicine in Frederick, MD. I found out Dr. Jonathan Letterman created the first ambulance corps and developed the technique of triage during the Civil War; today's modern systems grew out of his ideas, ideas that are still incorporated into modern medicine.

My brother insisted that the nav built into his car was all that was needed, however in many places over many hours, he had no signal while my trusty Zumo, suctioned to his windshield, guided us perfectly.

Before every trip, I browse POI factory for great POI files; stops, restaurants, sites, etc., along with incredibly eclectic collections users post.

I even upgraded the Zumo with more memory via links provided by POI Factory users.

So a huge thanks to Angela for keeping this site going for so long when so many other great sites are long gone. Also thanks to the contributors that keep the site great and again, many thanks to those posting congrats - you've all been great.
