...along with all your other electronics.
OK, yeah, an unabashed clickbait topic header and more FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) that I don't believe myself, but I swear we get at least one of these stories every year:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/cannibal-coronal-m...
So the bad news is, if you're reading this on July 17 or 18, 2023, all your electronics are about to be fried by massive solar storm ejections reaching Earth.
The good news is, if you're reading on or after July 19, 2023... kindly disregard the warning.
Hah!
No cell phones would cause more panic than GPS'!

G1 (MINOR) Geomagnetic Storm Watch
Contrary to what the article states, my understanding is that G1 and G2 are the two *lowest* levels for a geomagnetic storm.
Here's the relevant bulletin issued by NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center.
"MINOR Geomagnetic Storm WATCH for 17-18 Jul UTC-Day"

On the bright side...
If you live far enough north and have clear skies, tonight could be a good night to look for the Northern Lights.
Security Cameras
My Security cameras that use SD cards stopped working at 3 pm on the 17th.
They worked last night on the 19th. I just assumed it is the Texas heat. But the Geomagnetic storm could have done it. (well I am a natural blound)

Missed it
Glad I only saw this on July 20th. Crisis averted.
Still Waiting
Oh great! I just got over the angst of Y2K and now this!
Is It Safe . . .
