Nuvi 2589 traffic cam file

Hi there.
I haven't been here in a while.
I have a Nuvi 2589, and I am looking at installing the speed camera file.
Can I just put it on a MicroSD Card?
This unit has school zones already.
Traffic works somewhat.

You’ll probably need a 16 GB microSD card

The basic procedure can be found at http://www.speedcamupdates.com/nuvi-2589lmt although something similar is likely on these forums.

You will need an microSD card. I would recommend something around 16 GB as maps are getting big these days and I’ve found 8 GB isn’t big enough on a 2689. Do the regular map update as well, if you haven’t already.

I did the map update, no

I did the map update, no problems. I don't currently have any SD card in it.
I just didn't know if the unit will automatically load the red light camera poi file on the SD card or not.
I have been using some Magellan units I had, those already had the red light camera data. But leaving them stuck on the windshield on a hot day did them in, the battery exploded. Two units! I haven't had that problem with Garmin.

To your knowledge is there a maximum aize micro SD card?

To your knowledge is there a maximum aize micro SD card? I have 32gb, 128gb.

32 GB is max

32 GB is max, definitely not 128 GB (without doing something special). See https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=UsL6MuMMCM8PpgAhUUCqp7...

Are you sure you did a map update without any SD card?

If you are talking about the camera files here http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/us/red-light-cameras . When you run poiloader just select the SD card for installation. See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721#:~:text=14.%20When%20y..... For info on SD card . http://www.poi-factory.com/node/37552#:~:text=See%20Favorite...

I did. It seemed to work. Though I admit I didn't examine to see if there was an sdcard in there or not. I guess I will have to look.

You probably have a card installed

If your 2589 is similar to my 2689, then it has 4 GB of internal memory and long ago I was prompted for the card. I think maps are running around 7 to 8 GB these days. All that makes me suspicious you have a card installed.
