Happy Memorial Day is a bittersweet greeting. We honor and remember Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters and Comrades that paid the ultimate price for the cost of our freedom. What could possibly be happy about such a sobering thought? Without their sacrifice, we would be living in a much different world; we are happy for the freedoms we enjoy and those willing to lay their life on the line to insure our freedom. When you greet one another “Happy Memorial Day,” pause and remember why.

Last year also contacted for DNA sample

The DNA was requested from my husband as they found bodies from WWI I think. Will have to look at the papers again. It was for his Great Grand fathers brother's son who was missing overseas. My husband was the only living family they could find. They asked us for more living but we don't know of any living earlier then my husband's generation.
My husband did the DNA but we also have not heard anything from them.

The strange thing is the person who is missing has the same name as one of my grandsons who was named after the same great grandfather my grandson was named after. Our son has 3 sons and he went through my and my husband's family trees to name all three sons. It is kind of neat!
