Burlington

Hi all,
I just got a garmin 7500 the other day and am loving it. I am travelling to Burlington Vermont in a week and am looking for things to do while in the area. Any input would be appreciated. I am travelling with my wife as well as my 6 year old son so family friendly points of interest would be great.
Thanks

Now I get it. There's a lot more here than first meets the eye smile Especially the slightly slow squinty eye looking in the wrong direction.

My favorite places in or

My favorite places in or near Burlington, VT were the Mt Mansfield Summit, the Vermont Pub & Brewery and the Benn and Jerry's ice cream tour. BVT is a great place to visit just avoid Winter and the dreaded Mud Season... which unfortunately is most of the year.

Beer.. good. Anyway one of the most enjoyable hikes I ever took was Mt Mansfield. It can be pretty difficult since a hefty buddy of mine was unable to make the climb.

That'll have to wait for another time as I'll have my 6 year old with me. Unless there's a Mcdonalds on the summit-lol

I took the Long Trail , but

I took the Long Trail , but you can take short reasonably flat hikes. There is a toll road on the one side of the mountain so you don't even need to hike. Also you can take a gondola ride to the summit.

From wikipedia:
Mount Mansfield has many hiking trails, including the Long Trail, which traverses the main ridgeline. Additionally, the east flank of the mountain is used by the Stowe Mountain Resort for skiing and tourism, and for a toll road that is open to automobiles.
