Anything to keep your windmill alive.

Still hot and humid

Temps and humidity in the 90s. That's Florida in September (and June, July, and August)

Lucky Me!!

Was mowing lawn, and suddenly riding mower tipped to side... I thought rear wheel may have come off!
Looked, wheel is on, just in a hole...
Gave it gas, rear tire spun, gripped, and continues on at a normal pace... Because it's a normal pace I don't stop, and continue mowing...
Go around Garage, and then back and STOP......

That hole? Was an underground basketball sized Yellow Jacket Nest!

Parked far away, got Spray and killed nest... Fewer than 100 flying so I sprayed from a distance... Once dead a few hours later checked, and realized he opening to nest was way wider than it should have been....

OH! THAT'S WHY I SAW TURKEY'S THERE A WHILE BACK!!!

Found a second nest torn asunder buried nest 100' away from first...

Filled both holes with Gravel last PM....

Lucky Me — I have Turkeys here!!!

Trip to North Bay & Tobermory, Ontario

Just decided to take a trip north to visit friends and then to go to Tobermory to tour around. About 1300 km/830 mile round trip.

Great way to test out my Garmin Drive Smart 65, that I just bought. Very pleased. Got great help in decision by the great members of POI Factory.

When I was in 11th grade, my friend's parents took me along on a ridiculous camping trip up there. We didn't see anyone else except one time, in 10 days. I was way over my head, it involved portaging canoes with frame packs on steep trails. I thought man how do they know how to do this, it's really amazing....hope the area is still beautiful as it was way back when...

Labor Day

Have a great day off this Labor Day and enjoy!!!

Winter Is Coming

...as they say on "Game of Thrones." Hard to believe when it's still so warm down here.

During daylight hours in Alaska, check out this livecam shot of the Denali Railroad Station:
https://www.nps.gov/media/webcam/view.htm?id=81B466C8-1DD8-B...

That now-green tree in the foreground will likely flip yellow this week. The darker green trees are evergreens. Denali National Park is at peak fall color already this week. In another few weeks, the leaves will be down and they may start getting some snow, especially on the mountains in the background.
