Kia navigation voice search hell

I know there's several on here with later model kia/hyundais/genesis products.

My question, how do I tell it to search for a business name in a different city/state than currently in?

Find "business name" in (near?) "city/state" does not work, nor do variations such as including just the city or state.

Manually typing in the business name works fine, "mobil kenosha"

Suggestions?

The vehicle in question is a 22 stinger with the gen5w nav w/ 202205 update.

I hope someone has an answer for you ...

but sadly I don't even though I drive a Kia Optima. My Optima has Android Auto, which I use occasionally. It's OK, but I still prefer my Garmin DriveLuxe which is mounted on the left vent and I use it all the time. I thought about spending the extra $ for the fancy electronics package add on that included the Nav system. I am glad I stuck with the cheaper option of Android Auto/Apple Car Play. Hope someone has an answer for you tho!

You've reviewed the manual?

Have you reviewed the navigation manual with respect to the voice function. The page at http://webmanual.kia.com/STD_GEN5_WIDE/AVNT/EU/Greek/voicere... for instance states to search in another state, "If you want to search in another state, say the name of state/province and then say the address.

The Sorento manual is at https://pdf4pro.com/amp/cdn/kia-navigation-system-quick-refe.... Go to about page 58 for the section on voice commands.

John, Of course I reviewed

John,

Of course I reviewed the manual, multiple times over.

You missed one key point in my post. I am not searching for an address. Rather a business. Surprisingly, the verbal search for an address part in a different locale DOES WORK!

Lets say I want to find bestbuy in san diego, what do I say?

Guess only.

Just a wild guess. Did you try saying place as a voice command? Then see if you get a follow up.

$$$$ wanted

I didn't use the term "place".

I reached out to kia uvo support as well as posting on several forums. The consensus seems to be this is by design.

Even the garmin DS65 I have doesn't support this.

Kia supports this functionality with their highest rate subscription plan ($200/yr). I don't use the car enough to justify this. It's simpler to pull over to enter the target if needed it. Most touch screen functions don't work while the car is in motion.

Again, IMO this seems to defeat the whole purpose of voice recognition, but that's besides the point. Why offer it (hardware is certainly capable since it can search for addresses by voice) if it can be monetized instead.

Key words find place

Correction should be find place. Also DS65 will find places. See https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=HiMq86CFvk0A7kTdhcTZw5...
