For those of you now putting maps on SD cards!!!

So did the 2023.10 update on 3x Garmins: old 660, and 2x 2689...
All 3 Garmins now put maps on SD Cards.....

Tested and one (Of course, Wife's 2689!) did not show local roads, only State & Interstate... ??
I then checked MyMaps, and see 2023.10 Foursquare but no 2023.1 NA Maps..

Ended up being the SD Card backed out of the connector just a bit..... So Garmin didn't see maps (or local parts) Powered system down and took to house....

Its almost as if the SD card is Just Long enough to stick out of Garmin a bit (as it touches the Dash from window mount) and un-seat itself!

For now, the best approach is to put a piece of scotch tape across another -- Sticky to Sticky (so as not to stick on SD card, and after seating SD card in 2689, put piece of tape across SD Card just tight enough to hold, but lose enough so it doesn't push on SD card in -- to release it...

Now it's reporting everything: both Maps and Foursquare....

A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

Same Issue

I had the same thing happen when I tried using one of my old automobile GPSr's on my bicycle. I must have bumped the case, releasing the SD card, when installing the unit on the handlebars. Luckily it didn't fall completely out.

I also noticed some dust around the slot, probably from the gravel trails I ride. loosely putting a piece of tape over the card opening is a good idea, especially in dusty environments.
