I arrived at the hospital in time to make some good visual contact with my grandmother before her drugs kicked in and she started to slip away.

I stayed at her bedside with my mother and her sister all night long and my grandmother passed away at 11:30 this morning.

I have not slept since thursday night so I will be resting over the next few days to prepare for the 8 hour long drive home on Monday.

I want to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts at this time. My grandmother was an amazing woman that touched the lives of many.

She will always be remembered and loved.

God's plan for each of us is well calculated. He places people in our lives for particular reasons and particular times. Learning love is the particular reason...that you learned. Hold on to that love and share it as she did for you...forever.

I know we are just internet friends, but losing a loved one is universal. Even with all the sympathy and well wishes, it sometimes is a difficult and lonely journey filled with mixed emotions. This is to be expected. Yes, we mourn the death of our loved ones, but we should also celebrate their lives.

After you heal from the initial pain, you can look back and reflect on her life and the impact she has made to countless others that have crossed her path.

You have our sincere condolences. We lost our beloved Dad, and, although he was 92, it was not easy to seem him go. As with your Grandmother, he will be sorely missed and never forgotten. One day we will see our loved ones again, may you find peace in that awareness.

I am new here but I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Grandma about 5 yrs ago at 98. She was ready to go. I didn't want her to go but I new that is what she wanted. She lived a great life and taught me alot. I do miss her everyday but I know she is in a better place then this crazy world today. She is with her father in heaven which I am sure your grandma is now. They will enjoy eternal life together. They will look down on us and say GPS'S heck we just jumped on the horse and looked at where the sun was and headed off. We never got lost LOL.

I'm new to this site and don't know you at all. I, as well as my wife feel quite sad when we hear these stories of loved ones deaths. We have both had many family deaths on both sides since we've been married for 17 years. Whether it's someone we know or not, we still take it to heart. We are quite sorry to hear of your loss. It's amazing that hearing this dampens my day even though it's someone I don't know.

I,am truly sorry about your loss of a loved one,My Grandmother died last christmas eve she was 108 years old.There is not a day that goes by that I don,t think of her because she raised me till I was Eighteen and went into the Service.The most important thing thru this difficult time is that you were with her,believe me that is a blessing in itself. We Pray my wife and myself that god will be with you and your family thru these difficult times.
