Chili's

I have uploaded a Chili's file, but see the caveat in the accompanying comment. All but 10 states are included. The uploaded file should show up on the site sometime.

Please give it time..

Miss POI is very good with getting the stuff up for us.. Since she is being very busy at this time, please give her time to ok all the stuff..

From my time here both JM and Miss POI has been VERY good and I enjoy coming back here as much as I can.. I dont like visting fourms as they sometimes get out of hand and justs gets crasy.. Hewre I find everyone is so freindly and cares for each other.. Maybe its because we dont attact the "Kids" i dont know.. I do know that both JM and Miss POI work very hard to do "the right thing" and do it good.

Please see the 7/27 Miss Poi Update forum topic. Allow more time for your issue to be addressed as I am sure it will be.

Sorry

I did not intend anything negative by my posting. I was aware of the circumstances and certainly did not expect that the file would show immediately. I knew Miss Poi had certain issues she was dealing with. I only added the bit about it showing up "sometime" simply because I was not expecting the poi file to be loaded simultaneously as the posting on this topic. I know there is some administrative processing before poi files show up on the site and I did not expect that to be done this weekend, in the circumstances. Really, because of the situation, I had wanted to wait till sometime in the new week to submit the file, but I needed to get it out of the way. I am sorry for any confusion caused by that statement in my original post. Certainly, I did not, and I would not, imply anything negative.

Your file is now on the

Thanks.
By the way, how can I get an icon file across to you for uploading? It seems there is no way to do that on the site.

I should have checked

OOPS! I should have checked earlier but I just noticed that there are tons of Chili restaurants listed in the original 6 million poi's list on my 2720, covering all states, including Texas and other states that are not on our file. So I can't help but wonder if there is any benefit to adding the Chili's poi from our site when they are already listed in Garmins.

As you'll discover

As you'll discover there will be many not on the unit that are in the POI file. This is because the POI's on the unit are several years old. That's the point of this web site, to keep the POI's as current as possible. Then when you have a special interest, they'll be there for you. Hopefully the new vNT2008 will correct a good many of these, but still not be as current as what can be done here. You will find errors in both, but the POI's on this web-site can be corrected easily whereas the ones on your unit require an update from the manufacturer, this being periodically rather than timely. Hope this helps with your decision process, of course, the ability to download or not rests entirely with you...

You are probably correct,

You are probably correct, however, I DO have the newest v. nt 2008 and it appears pretty update and includes locations and states that are not in our poi file. That said, if a new site opens, it would not be on the garmin poi list and would not until the next update where as we can always add it to the current list and not have to wait until the next update.
