Garmin 660 (lost voice directions)

Need help It has been years and no problems with my 660.
This trip I lost all voice directions and have tried everything with no fix. I have a voice when I first load a trip in where to. I am looking for my manual but no luck it is somewhere easy for me to find.

If someone would like to help please email me at my contact point for POI Factory

Thanks

There are very many Garmin 660s

There are very many Garmin 660s. Take a look at these:

https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?focus=manuals&productSearc...

Profile says nuvi 660

So the manual can be found at https://static.garmin.com/pumac/1262_OwnersManual.pdf.

I would first do an update, I assume with Garmin Express and check the see if the options offer new voices, like English. That unit dates to 2007 so Garmin Express may not work. Post back if it doesn’t as numerous people here have old units.

If that doesn’t work there is a reset procedure discussed in the manual.

Thanks 660 Reply

Will read and try all suggestions. May be a day or so as I am trying to clean up my yard after having two pine trees uprooted and no way to get in the shed for tools until I can get help removing the trees. Hopefully tomorrow will have people over to help.

Check the FM section in the manual

I think the nuvi 660 has an FM transmitter that allows your car's FM radio pick up the navigation instructions, etc. I believe that if the nuvi 660's FM transmitter is turned on, the nuvi speakers will be muted. Another thing would be to just check the nuvi's audio settings to make sure the speakers didn't get muted or the volume turned too low.

Goof luck.

Have a 660 and inadvertently

Have a 660 and inadvertently turned off audio here too

What Craig said is correct

A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!
