Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – March 2020

Had a beautiful warm, sunny day so I took a 2 hour joyride on some nice curvy roads!

happened in 17 years. Have not left home since Friday evening.

We can in fact work, and keep ourselves amused very well.

But imagine if no power or internet.

Went up for a day, The city shut down a lot of vendors for the weekend.

thinking Christmas. Made a trip to a Christmas specialty shop. Let the buying begin!

Toilet paper

Virginia to Titusville, FL for the shuttle launch. Launch self aborted at T -15. Had to fight traffic all the way back.

Nowhere.

Really concerned about the COVID-19 so will be staying inside, except for the necessary runs to the grocery store. Hopefully everyone will heed the direction to not get in crowds and to minimize outside the home activities. Really feel bad about those who have to work, and especially for those who have been laid off. We'll get through it though!

We arrived at Henderson, NV., a couple of days ago. Road trip, taking the Northern route. Finally saw Mount Rushmore, what a sight. Everybody stay safe.

Social distancing this week, grocery shopping only.

I am immune-compromised and old gotta be extra careful. Got lots of toilet paper lol. Take short drive around town keep a low profile.

Multiple trips have been delayed or cancelled...

Going to Food Store not needing GPS yet....

Texas Oncology, pick up from Whataburger window and Walmart Pick up.
We have been self isolated to protect my husband. We are hermits and recluse so it doesn't seem much different other than eating fast fold inside the restaurants.
Being isolated has made our laundry much smaller. A nice thing. I have also finished one large painting and started another one.
Next I am going to sew another purse. Being able to order all supplies online helps. I spray the boxes with Lysol before I open and through them away. I then wash my hands good. I also wash my hands after we get the mail.
I find projects around the house to keep my husband busy. Also, I have cleaned out drawers and closets that definitely needed cleaning.
Just keeping busy.

have the ability to work from home but company wants everyone to come to office for now. happy i have my own office and most people are in different city than i am in

Hunkering down

Last week at this time, I was in Florida, waiting on a SpaceFlight launch that didn't go off, while my car was mired to axles in a bog.

Attended church online today. This is the first Sunday our congregation has had a service available online. The services were cancelled the past two weeks, so it was the first time this month for a church service. They used the Zoom conferencing app and it worked remarkably well for their first attempt at this. We have a very small congregation of mostly old people like me ... there were 43 online sessions in attendance with multiple people on some sessions. That reflects an average attendance for our normal Sunday service in the sanctuary, so the online turnout was pretty good. Our minister gave a thoughtful and comforting sermon for these scary times ... very helpful messaging for keeping folks calm.

Had to retrieve some stuff from office before statewide shelter in place. Eerie how empty the streets were.

Not doing much, taking kids for a walk with distance around us.

The gas station a few days ago. Filled up, just in case.

No restaurants open for inside eating.
Only choices are basically fast food joints for breakfast and dinners and eat in the car.
I hope I'll never have to do that again!

Doing local trips to supermarkets and take out places that were open

Took my daughter for a long pointless drive. We only got out at 2 empty viewpoints for a stretch and later to pick up take out pizza. I saw at least 4 trucks hauling dual trailers of wood chips, I think the TP is on its way.

Needless to say, I haven't ventured too far from home.

Stuck at the house under "work from home" directive.

And we are now under statewide quarantine.
