How do I get custom POIs to list in alphabetical order?

Hi, I have a NUVI 68. Historically, when I loaded custom POIs from the POI factory, they would list in alphbetical order. All of the sudden, I can't get them to do this. I've tried everything I can think of but they stil list on the Garmin when I select "Custom POI" in not perticular order. I just did the latest update and still no order. Thanks Terry

Order

Any waypoints, favorites or POI's will show up by distance from your current location.

In your list of saved places, POI's everything will be listed in Alpha order. But when you select a particular category they are listed by distance from location.

Custom POI Order

If you have installed the latest version of Garmin Express 6.18.0.0, it should be working properly. if you have Mac, the latest version of Garmin Express V6.18.0.0 is available and the latest POI Loader for Mac ( Version 2.4.1 ) was updated on September 16th.

Custom POIs in abc order

I have the Drive 52, and found the same issue; device list the custom pois category in no specific order.
But, list the individual poi in a sub-cat, by distance.

Always been that way. You

Always been that way. You can always type a name in the search block to find a POI that isn't close enough to show in the immediate list.

Folders or what

What isn't in alphabetical order, the folders or the POI's within each folder? Folders should be in alphabetic order and the POI's within each folder will be in distance order, as has been pointed out.

Custome POI catagories not showing up in alphbetical order

Thanks for all the reply. Historically, when I upload my custom POIs from my computer, the catagories show up in alphbetical order. This has been the case for all previous Garmins including the one I'm now using. About a year ago, they started showing up in random order which makes it hard to quickly find the one I want. The POIs are not the problem it is the catagoris like, "Walmart", RV camping, McDonalds, etc." I have just updated my software and still have the same problem. I guess I'll have to buy a new GPS and hope that it will work like I want.
I have contacted Garmin and they don't understand my problem. They keep thinking I'm talking about the POI showing in alphbetical order which obviously would be of no value.

I'm going to ASSUME that

I'm going to ASSUME that when you say "Catagories" you in fact mean "Folders".

If there is a folder for Walmart, a folder for McDonalds, etc. and they are all located a a folder called MyPOI for example, then when you run POILoader agains MyPOI everything will be in Alphabetical order on the GPS. I'ts worked this way for me since my NUVI 50 and thru the DRIVES.

Buying a new GPS to solve this problem is like buying a new car because the old one ran out of gas and you're hoping the new one will have a full tank. I sure it's a procedural problem and not a device problem.

I was thinking about this.
If you have a folder called MyPOI and put Walmart in a STORES folder and Mcdonalds in a RESTURANTS folder in that MyPOI folder, then they will be in alphabetical order also by the catagory STORES and RESTURANTS and also within those catagories. The individal locations will not. They will be by distance from your current location.

Different ways but they all are basically the same.
