Icons on Saved Locations

I've been reading thru

which is a good discussion on POI icons. But have a question about the Icons used in a RV770 GPS and BaseCamp.
I create a "Saved" location on the GPS. Then import data into BaseCamp. I change the icon for the location in BaseCamp(I.E. from a blue flag to a house). Then import back to the GPS. The house icon does not appear in the GPS and the next time I receive data from the GPS (I download tracks often) the location in BaseCamp changes back to the blue flag.
Is the any way to stop it from changing back, or have the house icon appear in the GPS?

The BaseCamp icon set is now way behind what your Garmin device has, so I'm afraid you can't do what you're asking. It would be great if the BC set was updated but as development on it has stopped that isn't going to happen. It is what it is.

Well XXXXX. First Microsoft kill Streets and Trips, and now Garmin is dumping BaseCamp. Will there be any desktop mapping software for trip planning that doesn't require an internet connection?

Not dumping it, MapSource its predecessor is still available and so I suspect BC will be for many years yet.
